Permanent Lighting in Northeast Heights, Albuquerque
Year-round, app-controlled roofline lighting for the ranch and stucco homes that climb from Louisiana Boulevard toward the Sandias.
Smart Permanent Lighting for Northeast Heights Homes
The Northeast Heights is where a lot of Albuquerque actually lives: block after block of single-story ranches, pitched shingle roofs and stucco two-stories rising gently toward the Sandia foothills. Every December the same ritual plays out on these streets, with ladders leaning on gutters and extension cords snaking across xeriscape gravel.
Permanent lighting ends that routine. We mount a low-profile track along your fascia or roof edge, color-matched so it disappears during the day, and you control everything from one app. Warm white on a weeknight, red and green for the holidays, cherry and silver when the Lobos are playing. No more ladders, no more tangled strands in the garage.
Designed for Northeast Heights Rooflines
Much of the Heights was built from the 1950s through the 1980s, so we see a lot of low-slope pitched roofs with exposed rafter tails, simple fascia boards and attached garages facing the street. Those long, uninterrupted eave lines are ideal for permanent lighting. Newer infill and remodeled homes add parapets and flat-roof sections, which we handle with a separate parapet approach rather than forcing one solution on every roofline.
Most of the established Heights neighborhoods aren't governed by strict HOAs, but some pockets do have covenants or a neighborhood association. If yours does, we'll put together the design details, track color and mounting method so you can submit them for review. Either way, the finished install reads as clean trim during the day rather than a holiday decoration left up too long.

Heights evenings are made for the backyard: a portal or covered patio facing east, the Sandias turning watermelon pink right as the sun drops. Set a schedule that fades your roofline on at sunset in a soft warm white, then shift to a dimmer accent level after 10 p.m. so your street stays welcoming without glare.
Because the system runs on schedules, you can plan the whole year at once. Orange and purple through late October, warm amber for Thanksgiving, a full Christmas palette starting the day after, and a quick switch to balloon colors on Balloon Fiesta mornings when the sky over the Heights fills up.

Northeast Heights Permanent Lighting FAQs
Will permanent lights look out of place on my older Northeast Heights ranch?
Not when they're installed well. On a typical Heights ranch we run the track along the fascia or just under the drip edge and match it to your trim color, so from the sidewalk it reads like part of the house. The lights themselves are small and spaced evenly, and when they're off they're hard to spot unless you know to look for them.
How do spring winds in the Heights affect a permanent install?
Spring wind season hits the Heights hard, especially closer to the foothills where gusts come down off the mountain. That's exactly why we don't use clips or temporary hangers. The track is mechanically fastened to the structure, the wiring is enclosed, and nothing flaps or catches the wind. It's the same install that rides out monsoon downpours in July and August.
Can I light just the front of my house first and add the back later?
Yes. Many Heights homeowners start with the street-facing roofline and garage, then add a backyard portal, block wall or patio later. We plan the controller and power location with expansion in mind so a future phase connects cleanly. You'll still run everything from the same app, and new zones can follow the same schedules you've already set up.
What affects the cost of lighting a Northeast Heights home?
The biggest factors are the linear footage of roofline you want lit, how many corners and gables the roof has, whether it's one story or two, and where we can access power. Flat-roof parapet sections are handled differently than pitched eaves. Add-ons like wall or landscape zones also factor in. We'll measure on site and give you a clear written quote.
